What is a CMS?
A Content Management System is a web based application that lets you, the website owner, manage the content on your website easily and efficiently. Using an interface similar to Facebook, website articles, blog entries, and other content can be easily added, modified or deleted. Furthermore, it is a snap to add photos, videos and other rich content to your website.
Why do I need a CMS?
The language of the web, HTML, is what makes a website function but unless you speak the language fluently it is a difficult language to work with without the right tools. A Content Management System provides this tool in an easy-to-use interface for the purpose of altering HTML without actually having to learn it.
In addition, the ability to add and modify your own website content can save both time and money as it eliminates the need for a dedicated staff member who is knowledgeable about HTML. |
